October is National Craft-Making Month!

(and I just dated myself with those lyrics...)

We're halfway through October and NaCraMaMo. How is everyone doing?


Personally, I feel both accomplished and slacking. Which is BS, I know. I know that I am pushing a little harder than I should, and I need the days when I "just" put a few rows into a baby hat. I also know that if I do no crafting for days on end, I feel worse than if I can get in even just a few knitted rows. Those few knitted rows eventually become a hat. A tiny little hat that has me smiling.

Day 15

The post-vaccine uselessness largely passed by Saturday (except that my knee is still messed up), and I was able to get dinner in the slow cooker and attend my stitch-in, where I got a whole bunch of Xs in the same color put into the 2019 Mystery SaL



After the stitch-in, I sewed the nose and chin sections of a whole lot of face coverings, and then cut the sections off.



Day 16

I finished knitting the headband that I started on Monday...



I completed 2 face coverings!



I started yet another headband while watching a Legends of Tomorrow, just to have something to do with my hands where I didn't have to think too much...

Yesterday ended with my office being a mess. so, today was more sorting. I went through my charts/pattern/instructions, decided on categories, and sorted them into an accordion file that was not being used well for, well, filing. I found a bunch of trim and got it all put into zip bags. I did the same with some polymer clay and accessories (though I think I will probably eventually store them in DMC boxes).

It eventually got too hot in the office (we had a heat advisory today) so I took a long break. But, before dinner, I sorted out all the modern DMC floss that was at the bottom of the yarn box, recorded it in the spreadsheet, and put it away!



I still have the stuff in the bag to go through; it's a mix of pearl cotton and tapestry yarn and what is probably old-enough-to-be-considered-antique DMC floss. I've done a little research, and the really old thread might not be worth stitching with.

After all that, I repaired the second kid headset.

Day 15: As expected, I was in too much pain and under influence of enough drugs that I was in no shape to work on anything.

Day 16: As unexpected, I wasn't as recovered as I would have liked, and I had just enough spoons to get done all the things that I HAD to do.

Day 17: Still in a lot of pain and on more drugs than I would like, but I got some confetti stitched on the kiwi.



The next color I do will have lots of large blocks to stitch...
