Day 1 - I think there's progress...

[I tried to post this yesterday, but I had trouble connecting to the DW server...]
I worked maybe 60 stitches in the #MadXStitchalong. The first picture is what I did before today, and the second picture is from today.
Maybe someday I will remember that cell phone pics in the dark don't make for the greatest visuals...

Days 28-31: countdown to the end...
Oct. 31st, 2018 08:35 pm![[personal profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png)
Day 28: the day of the big twins' birthday party. My lack of RSVPs fortunately was reflected in the attendance; I don't know what I would have done cake wise if 40 more people showed up. As it was, I frosted 3 cakes, which was the extent of my crafting for the day (no pictures).
Day 29: I did find some time to work on the Steotchalong:

Note that the one on the bottom right I started to put in wrong...
Day 30: I needed to get caught up with a bunch of household things that got dumped when I was in so much pain (yes, it's *finally* better!), so the only crafty thing I got done was figuring out how to make the heads of the costumes that my mom made for my kids stand up straighter (and it's still not quite solved, as seen in the pic).

Day 31: After dealing with kids' school things all day, I admitted that I was utterly exhausted, and sent the kids out with their dads for trick-or-treating. I spent that blissfully quiet hour actually finishing week two of the Steotchalong!

I finished up week 1 of Steotchalong 6.

And stitched a little of the week 2 chart.

I can NOT wait for this week to be over. Especially if next week is better.

Days 22 and 23

Still dealing with post root canal pain, but at least when I saw my regular dentist on Tuesday, he prescribed more pain meds.
Still trying to catch up on Week 1 of Steotchalong 6.

Days 20 and 21

Day 20
Between it being my kids' birthday, and the 6th day of terrible post root canal pain, and the emergency dentist visit it entailed (apparently, I am rare and unfortunate, and not worthy of more pain meds that will work for me), I did not get any crafting done.
Day 21
I decided to really distract myself today with various video things, and a new mystery Steotchalong that actually started a week ago. I'm also a pushover for Tumblr encouragement and a glutton for punishment. And maybe I wanted to get away from confetti for a while. Anyway, I picked out my colors and got about half of the week 1 chart done (and week 2 was released yesterday).

No longer a mystery!

I finally finished the Mystery Stitchalong!
Here's the days leading up to the end...
Nov 18-20

Nov 25

Nov 28

Dec 01

Dec 02 FINISHED!

Of course, it still needs to be washed and pressed and mounted and framed, but hooray, the stitching is done! The metallic around the wands is a little hard to see in the photos, but it looks nice in person.
And a blast from the past... My Kids and I did ceramic painting back in early October, but I never posted the fired and glazed versions, so here they are!
The kids'...

Mine...

Still plugging along
Nov. 18th, 2017 10:13 pm![[personal profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png)
I usually do a personal challenge for the weeks of November and December, but not this year. However, I am still plugging away on projects.
I got a bunch of work done on the Mystery Stitchalong.

Nov 17

I worked on this piece yesterday Nov 17; I'm working on a section that uses a DMC Light Effects thread, which is a PitA to work with, and I put in and frogged the same six stitches three times before I found some tips on how to work with this damn stuff, and finally got about a dozen stitches in. However, by then it was dark, and it's a light colored thread on white, so I'll take the picture in daylight after I've worked some more today.
On Nov 12, I went to a bead meetup, and reworked the necklace that I'm making for my Mom, and stitched some snowflake earrings from a hank that we found when we went to a bead show a couple of weeks ago.
