It was a really nice day, so I took my online stitch-in outside.

For part one, I wound about 8.5 2 ounce skeins of cotton yarn for washing. (I rescue second hand yarn for reuse. As a general policy, I wash all yarn before introducing it to my stash, and I prefer to be outside to wind the yarn for washing)

For part two, I stitched the feet on the mouse (I only had to frog four stitches!). And on my way back inside, I found my missing green thread in the laundry corridor (it must have stuck to my clothing and then fallen off), so I also stitched the final holly leaf.

Loved these book charms -- decided to use the Sense color scheme as I had some blue/beige beads. Then I filled it in with alternating gold and silver hearts, as well as some artificial chalcedony.

I'll have some photos to share when the projects are done, but our community is having a little outdoor Halloween party and I'm making photo booth frames.

The logistics were challenging because I didn't know where to find enough cardboard. Then I discovered tempura paint (powdered paint in a can) is no longer a thing, LOL.

Some free cardboard showed up via a package, but I ended up going to Michaels and Dollarama to get cardboard trifolds in black and white and cutting them up into four strips.

The one frame I tried to paint orange--well, I wasn't going to wait all day for enough coats of orange to happen :-D Back to Dollarama where I bought some orange poster board and wrapped the sides. I need the frames to be durable enough to last an afternoon of potentially rough handling!

As to decorating them, I bought some giant stickers from Dollarama as well. Now I just have to put it all together today :-D

Day 17

I didn't find time for crafting until we got to our screen break time in the evening, and I was pretty brain and spoon fried. So I pulled out my current latch hook project and put 2+ rows into it:

The first photo shows where I started, and the second shows where I finished. Taken mostly because when I finished last night, it didn't seem like I had done anything, but the photo SHOWS the progress.

Day 18

I had a whole bunch of little things needing repair pile up, and I decided today would be a good day for repairs.

First, some earrings - one earring needed a new earwire, and the second earring (Bajoran style) needed a dangly reattached.

[ID: Two photos of 3 dangly earrings, in mostly silver and purples; the first before the repair, and the second after the repair. End ID]

Then, I had a stuff-it bag with a rip, and K's apron, where one of the ties had come off. I sewed the rip in the bag, which took THREE tries, because the nylon fabric is cheap, and then sewed the apron tie back on. I also caught another apron tie that was coming loose, and sewed that as well.

During our family screen break time, after I had done a bunch of chores, I finished wrapping the last four faux grape stems with floral tape:

I might get the stems put in at stitch-in tomorrow.

My knee is still *very* unhappy, and that is impacting my life severely. I'm currently searching out an orthopedist for a second opinion, since the first opinion isn't working out so well. I'm still crafting 'most every day. but how much gets done (or even what, sometimes) is determined by spoons available. Posting is still the hardest part, because I've been really tired at the end of the day, and it definitely is the part of this process that feels like the most work.

Day 17

I finished the headband that I started on Sunday

20221017

Day 18

Tuesday was a really rough day, and all I could find enough spoons to do was two nose wires for face coverings.

20221018

Day 19

I spent time with my stitch-in group and got a bunch more Xs in the same color as Saturday completed!

OMG, I move in FIVE DAYS! And my Babies turned 10 this week!

Day 16
I had a dental anesthetic hangover following the day of my dental work and anesthetic fog, so no crafting.

Day 17-18
I was forgetful, so this pic is a to-fer.

Day 17..

The was no Day 17. After a couple nights of little and bad sleep, I couldn't concentrate on anything well enough not to make it worse.

Day 18

I felt better. I got all my polymer clay stuff in one place! (and then I found the clay roller after I took the picture.

20201018a 20201018b

I also got some stitching done on the SaL.

Day 19

I tackled some more of the mess on my office desk and floor. Some got put away, some got put in a box to get put away later. I can see the top of my desk again! (no pic, because it got dark by the time I got a round tuit),

The twins' birthday was this past weekend along with their school's Fall Fest, and I was too busy and too tired to post.

Day 18

I washed all the fabric for K's costume to be...

20191018

...and made two dozen allergen-free cupcakes for the Fall Fest (not pictured)

Day 19

I did some stitching at the Fall Fest...

20191019a

...And made some very quick earrings for my kids' morning birthday present (like stockings at Christmas, K said)...

20191019b

...And baked a double batch of brownies (for Coffee Hour at church on Sunday), a single batch of brownies for F's cake, and a double-layer yellow cake for K's cake (not pictured).

Day 20

I frosted F's cake...

20191020c

...and then I frosted K's cake...

20191020a 20191020b

...For my kids' birthday present from my Mom, we went to a ceramic painting place, and the kids painted "sugar" skulls, and I put another layer of paint on the black lines of my bowl...

20191020d

...And then when I collapsed after dinner, I put a few more stitches into the #MadXStitchalong...

20191020e

Day 21

I took the kids to the park after school and went to work some on the Stitchalong, and discovered that I'd put in an extra 2 rows WAY UP THERE, and had to frog a bunch, and then just could not face any more...

Still in the midst of post root canal pain. Went to the dentist AGAIN on Thursday. They put in some topical antibiotic, and gave me a rinse. And I've been hitting the major pain killers when I don't have to drive or be alone with the kids. I've still been in level 5-8 pain despite everything, and if it's still this bad tomorrow, I'm calling them again.

Day 18

And the above is the reason I did very little on the kiwi, and then had to frog it twice before I got it right.

20181018

Day 19

Tomorrow is my littles' *SEVENTH* birthday! And as I do every year, I baked them cakes from scratch. K chose a blueberry cake with blue colored vanilla frosting, and F chose a pineapple cake with lemon frosting. (their Daddy GB made the frosting, bless him!) I'll probably do some more decorating on the cake tomorrow, but that will have to do for tonight.

I worked on all my current projects at various times, mostly successfully, though I did have one day of continuous problems.

I finished the shelf in 99 (football games are great for sewing) and started the first bottle on the next row, but then I spilled a little of my lemonade on it and want to wash it properly before continuing (I did rinse it at the time). Since it's off the frame, here's what the whole thing looks like:

99-181018

I worked a little on the temperature bookmark and the Christmas card.

I gave up on everything else and started working on Celtic Bookmark 10 from Artecy again (I'd abandoned it for a while). It's been loose in my bag of crafts, so it's a little wrinkled.

cb10-181018

I want to make the bracelet in the lower left of the background magazine, but I can't manage to get it started; I see how it's supposed to come together, but can't get it to work. I have silver two-hole beads and am thinking of using a dark iridescent for the rest.

I worked on 99 every day and got a third of the way through plus a little more.

17-20-99

I worked on my bracelet on days 17 and 18. I found a clasp that I liked, looked at random sites for attaching clasps to bracelets, and used a method that I found for one end. I then realized that it was going to be way too long with that clasp and would fall off of my wrist, so I don't know if I'm going to remove rows or find another clasp or remove the clasp and call it a bookmark instead.

I had a nice surprise this week - a big order of Instagram cards came through my Etsy shop, so I was busy making them. The listing is for three random cards, but in this case the customer wanted to choose and I was totally fine with it. I had half of their picks already in stock, but I had to run out and order more prints.

Last year I ended up designing some cardmaking rulers and had them laser cut. They are 0.25, 0.5, 0.75 and 1" widths. It makes it totally easy to slap a photo on a card and not worry about it being crooked!

Day 16 - I looked through the week 7 packet of the Mystery Stitchalong to decide on how to finish the project. There are 16(!)charted finishes, plus 3 different bottom borders, plus a charted alphabet if you wanted to design your own finish. The finishes are all related to one fandom or another. I have at least *some* passing acquaintance with about six or so of the fandoms; most of the others I might have heard of in passing or I had to look up. Only two I thought I was enough of a fan of to choose, and one of those, I Just Couldn't. I'm probably going to bounce around it in to keep you all in some suspense, unless you cheat and look it up. :)

Day 17 - I actually started stitching week 7 of the Mystery Stitchalong, but got so few stitches in that I didn't take a picture.

Day 18 - Hey, I actually made some progress on the Stitchalong!
