Day 17

I didn't find time for crafting until we got to our screen break time in the evening, and I was pretty brain and spoon fried. So I pulled out my current latch hook project and put 2+ rows into it:

The first photo shows where I started, and the second shows where I finished. Taken mostly because when I finished last night, it didn't seem like I had done anything, but the photo SHOWS the progress.

Day 18

I had a whole bunch of little things needing repair pile up, and I decided today would be a good day for repairs.

First, some earrings - one earring needed a new earwire, and the second earring (Bajoran style) needed a dangly reattached.

[ID: Two photos of 3 dangly earrings, in mostly silver and purples; the first before the repair, and the second after the repair. End ID]

Then, I had a stuff-it bag with a rip, and K's apron, where one of the ties had come off. I sewed the rip in the bag, which took THREE tries, because the nylon fabric is cheap, and then sewed the apron tie back on. I also caught another apron tie that was coming loose, and sewed that as well.

During our family screen break time, after I had done a bunch of chores, I finished wrapping the last four faux grape stems with floral tape:

I might get the stems put in at stitch-in tomorrow.

Day 31

It was a busy day AND Halloween. wheee! But I voted!

Here's a pair of socks-turned-armwarmers for the kids. It was a quick cut, and a zigzag around the edges. A child promptly turned them into part of her "costume."

While we were watching Coco instead of trick-or-treating, I put in a few columns of the CORRECT pink color on the latch hook project.

It's been a really sucky week. But I did something crafty every day, even if I didn't create.

Day 26

I worked some more on moving stuff around and putting things away.

Day 27

I worked some more at getting things reorganized and put away, and I even took a picture!

Where I started on Monday:

Where I ended on Tuesday:

20201027-after

I also did some latch hooking (first pic is what I had done previously)

Day 28

I tackled the first batch of jewelry supplies! This is my last online order, so it's been sitting in that box for MONTHS. (Last summer, I put a moratorium on bringing in any more crafting supplies (with an exception or two) until I could find all the things I already had.) I got about half the box put away into storage boxes.

20201028a 20201028b

I also had a stitch-in, where I got only a little bit of cross stitching on my SaL done, because there was a guest speaker, and she had pretty things to show!

20201028c

Day 29

I finished getting all the beads from the box I started on 10/28 put away into storage boxes!

20201029a

And then, I got all the storage boxes put away onto the shelves!

Day 30

Day 30 was a day of prodding kids a lot and just feeling entirely unmotivated. Things got a better once we got around to pumpkin carving, so after dinner, I settled in with TrollHunters and my latch hook. Unfortunately, after I had put in about another half-dozen columns, I discovered that I had put in the wrong color of pink, so I spent more than 30 minutes frogging. Frogging latch hook is a lot more difficult than frogging cross stitch!

Day 10

Stick a fork in it, these poppies are DONE!

20191010a

I also managed a few rows on the #MadXStitchalong:

Day 11

...Got very busy and I made up for my overachieving on day 10 and did nothing on Day 11.

The real challenge is getting the pics posted.

I didn't get as much time as I hoped, so I did not finish on day 8.

20191008

Nor did I finish on day 9. I thought really hard about doing so, but it was already 22:30, which is 30 minutes past getting-ready-for-bed time, and I still had to make lunches. Today, for sure (I think)!

Two very full, often crazy days, where I finally got to craft in the darkness (well not quite, but you know what I mean).

Day 6

20191006

Day 7

20191007

I am so close to finishing the yarn looping on this one that I can taste it, and I may well try to finish it all up tomorrow, so that I can really get going on the #MadXStitchalong.

The part of a challenge that I suck at is the posting part. I was also down with a stomach bug or food poisoning, which didn't help.

Days 2-3

Managed some stitching on the stitchalong anyway, though not a whole lot.

20191002-03

Day 4

After a day chaperoning a trip with the whole second grade to our local science museum, and a birthday dinner celebration, I only had enough brain to work on the poppy latch hook I started back in March (the first picture is where I left it the last time I worked on it in September).

20191004-before 20191004
Day 5

I worked on the stitchalong on a commute to a party! (Hey, I went to a PARTY!)

20191005

I still need to catch up on reading and commenting.

I finished off the latch hook decor!

20171014a 20171014b 20171014c

For the flower latch hook, the canvas was about the right size, so I trimmed just the outside of the frame with the fabric.

Back in May 2016, I did a 30for30crafting challenge (craft 30 minutes a day for 30 days), and as part of that challenge (which I documented on Tumblr and in LJ's [livejournal.com profile] nacramamo), I designed (except for the flower; that was a kit) and hooked some latch hook decor for my kids.

20160509 20160520a 20160521
I went so far as to buy some canvas frames to mount them on, and then they sat. I unearthed them in the newest Great Office Unfucking. In the last week of September, I even got the biggest ones glued onto their frames.

20171012a

And then they sat again, because I've been focused on the Stitchalong. They've been underfoot waiting for a chance to be finished.... and today, I finished framing the ladybug! The canvas frames I found weren't quite the right size (too large), so I found some cloth to cover up the edges.

20171013b

I'm going to try and finish the other two this weekend.

Days 6-8

I didn't do much over the last three days; I did a few rows of beads every day, and a couple of other things on a couple of days.

I am very close to done with the beading part of this and will then have to decide how to finish it (it's Stained Glass by Beadholden Designs):

1006-08-stainedglass

On day 6, I also finished the last bottle here on 99 by Ink Circles (30 down, 69 to go):

1006-99

On day 8, I pulled out a latch hook kit called Floral D'Vine that I bought on clearance and started in 2014; I've only done two rows in the last two years. I've now done my row for this year, and might try to do a few more. I do now remember why I haven't been wanting to work on this; it's a little tedious. I do want to finish it someday.
