I haven't done a good job tracking my days, but I definitely have been working on this a lot lately. It takes so much work to get to simple and I did, although the final pattern is not shown. I'm making tiny square patterns in a 15x15 space on a 4x4" pin loom square. Sometimes it works on paper but doesn't work in real life :-D

Day 8 was a busy and tiring day, and all I managed was 5 rows on a new baby hat.

Day 9 was also a grumpy and listless day; I did attend my online stitch-in outside, where I got some fresh, somewhat brisk air, and wound and tied 6 skeins of yarn for washing.

I had a rough weekend, and had less time to do crafty things than I wanted.

Day 7 was a day of preparing. I washed a bunch of yarn, because I'm almost out of the yarn I use for baby hats, and washed a few other skeins as well:

While I was washing, I discovered that I hadn't tied up the skeins as thoroughly as I should have, so I might have fun turning this yarn into center pull balls.

I also pulled some small frames and foam core in preparation to frame some stitched pieces (not pictured).

Day 7, I knitted 15 rows on a new baby hat; I'm using the ends of two skeins of yarn, so this hat will me two-toned:

I don't feel like I did an awful lot this past weekend, but my knee still hurts and it's throwing off all my muscles and I was just hurty and exhausted by the end of the day, and thus no posting...

Day 8

I spent a couple of hours with my stitch-in group and got some more done on my mystery SaL from 2019!

Day 9

I started and FINISHED loom-knitting an entire headband

More cross stitch... It doesn't look like much, but that black rectangle keeps getting bigger.

Wow, time flies!

Day 8

I cleared out a small box from the office. The contents were from the kid bag that hasn't been used since the kids have been home from school, and I have no idea why that stuff was in my office. All the stuff got put away!

In the afternoon I took a little time away from home (and also on Wed) to take some nature photos, BY MYSELF. I'll link when I have them up. It was really nice to get out alone outside that wasn't a trip to the grocery store.

Day 9

I actually worked on the cross stitch WIP mystery stitch-a-long that was supposed to be done last year.

Day 10

I worked some more on the above-mentioned WIP. First I discovered that I had just too many loose threads on the back that needed to be clipped, because they kept catching on my working thread. So, I clipped 'em!

And then, worked some more catch-free stitches!

Day 11

My kids have been using headphones where I've recovered the speakers with heavy fleece because the foam had disintegrated, but they still found the headphones too hard. Today, I took the covers apart on one to add some foam (a reuse from a package I received recently). The kid pronounced it cushy, so I did the other side. Sometime later this week, I need to add foam to the pair the other kid is using.

Also, I made some vegan and gluten-free Peanut Butter Banana Blondies. I had some bananas the HAD to be used, but not enough eggs, and I was tired of the same old banana bread. This turned out different than I expected, but it was good (though the kids say that it's not their favorite, and it's not as good as my banana bread).

Although it looks like I skipped some days, I was productive! I started making larger rocking horse ornaments. The trouble is that they were more work than I anticipated.

I designed the cutting file years ago, so it was easy to cut them out on Pazzles die cutting machine. It's like a Cricut.

I made a sample one (which my Mom bought, thanks Mom!) but it looked quite plain. I needed a way to jazz it up without too much mess or pain. I wanted to use glitter but....mess and pain. Fortunately there was a bottle of gold Elmer's glitter glue in the stash and I tried outlining the hooves and saddle with it. Plus, I discovered that the glue part dries clear, which made it great for painting the rockers.

Alas glitter glue doesn't dry as fast as you would like it! It was easy to mess things up or have pieces accidentally stick together. I decided to make only as many horses as I had cut rockers for. I'm still assembling them. Stay tuned for the whole herd!

The real challenge is getting the pics posted.

I didn't get as much time as I hoped, so I did not finish on day 8.

20191008

Nor did I finish on day 9. I thought really hard about doing so, but it was already 22:30, which is 30 minutes past getting-ready-for-bed time, and I still had to make lunches. Today, for sure (I think)!

On the 11th, I didn't do anything crafty; the other people in my house came back from vacation and I got distracted.

Yesterday (day 12), I worked on 99 a tiny bit; the shelf is two rows and I'm close to finished with the first one. I just need to sit down and do it instead of letting myself be distracted by other shinier things.

On days 7-10, I worked mostly on my Christmas card; I have the ornaments finished and only have the curls and the backstitching left to do; I don't know why they have the curls so close to the fabric color (in the picture from the kit, there's more of a contrast):

On day 12 I worked on a temperature bookmark, where you do a bit for each day with a color representing the high temperature. I did most of the orange stitches yesterday; I'm into June and it was warm. I already have the color for the highest high in there even though the high for the year was in July (DMC 3705, representing 94-97). I'm tempted to do a similar one for the low temperatures. I have more information about it at the bottom of a blog post from when I started it.

This isn't really a craft, but it's something that I did one day:

Nanoblocks Streets of Gion

I'm very tempted to start the current free project from Blackwork Journey if I have suitable fabric; it's only a little each month and wouldn't keep me away from other projects too much.

(I thought I had posted this last night, but I guess something went wrong...)

My kids had the day off school, so my mom invited us over to her house for a crafting day. She had gotten some balsa skull "birdhouses" and Halloween ornaments for the girls to paint, and haunted gingerbread houses for them to decorate. I had managed to forget to bring the kiwi, but she had some extra ornaments, and she and I painted some too! Here are the ones I painted:

20181008a

While the kids decorated the haunted houses (which I didn't really want to be near anyway), I went to the nearby Michael's craft store to look around, which is nearly impossible with the littles in tow. While I was looking in the embroidery section, which to my eyes is getting more and more sparse, I spied some of the "large" handled latch hook tools that I have been looking for for at least a year! I used to have several of those, but I lost one and another broke, and the narrow handled tools just make my arm hurt. They had 5; I tried to not be too greedy and took 4. :) They weren't badly priced AND I got a 20% discount!

When we got home, the kids still had energy to burn so we were off to the local park. I snagged the kiwi, and worked in a few stitches. I am beginning to believe that this is going involved a lot of confetti stitches...

I didn't do much over the last three days; I did a few rows of beads every day, and a couple of other things on a couple of days.

I am very close to done with the beading part of this and will then have to decide how to finish it (it's Stained Glass by Beadholden Designs):

On day 6, I also finished the last bottle here on 99 by Ink Circles (30 down, 69 to go):

1006-99

On day 8, I pulled out a latch hook kit called Floral D'Vine that I bought on clearance and started in 2014; I've only done two rows in the last two years. I've now done my row for this year, and might try to do a few more. I do now remember why I haven't been wanting to work on this; it's a little tedious. I do want to finish it someday.

I finished making all my little cardinal decorations. Four designs emerged. Click for larger.

Today I'm designing an apology card for the nice lady that comes and trims my birds' nails and beaks. On our last visit my cockatiel ripped her thumb open!
