Back in this entry, I had finished stitching a cross stitch ornament. Nearly two months later, I finally completed all the finishing work and hung it on my tree! The instructions said to glue all the finishing bits together, but I sewed them instead.

I measured a hem for K's cape, and then stitched the hem (no photo).

Then, I knitted one last baby hat from the current skein, and only had a tiny bit left over.

I made a layered or waterfall junk journal as a birthday gift. The theme was Sir Matthew Bourne's ballet Edward Scissorhands More about this: https://stonepicnicking-okapi.dreamwidth.org/652811.html

Final Day of the challenge! I picked up a string of fimo discs, not sure what to do with them, but I rather liked the color (and the price).

Realized when I was looking at this shell pendant that it might go very nicely for a coral sort of look. Added in glass seed bead spacers to make that work and then some glass studded metal balls for a bit more zing, and a reflective water angle.

Day 29

I FINISHED stitching the little mouse ornament! I COMPLETED a cross stitch project! (While sick, even!) Where's my ticker-tape parade? :)

Now, it needs a little bath, and then to be formed into the ornament.

Day 30

I didn't really know what to do this day; I didn't really want to start another cross stitch ornament, nor did I want to knit a baby hat. I decided to darn the second sock of a pair of boot socks that were wearing thin. The raining season is coming, and to wear my boots, I need my boot socks!

The enamel and glass pin seemed very 1920s to me, and I wanted to match the soft look. Added three kinds of green glass bead, both stone looking and frosted glass.

I was originally trying to decide whether to glitz it up with the larger metal beads and glass studded balls, or to use metal drums to bracket some clear glass and make it seem more wing-like. Ended up deciding to do both!

Had a few of these bright copper skulls left over from two other strands, and was trying to think of something different to do with them than the usual creepy fare.

I had a strand of multisize orange and black beads which seemed a good Halloween counterpart. I added in some matching copper stars and some semi-metallic painted glass ovals to give it a little glitz.

Day 27

I had a headache all day with a bit of a scratchy throat; looks like the cold I thought I was over, wasn't. All I got done was 16 rows on a baby hat.

Day 28

A very low energy day, because yeah, I really wasn't over that cold, ugh. One of the kids needed a jabot for a costume, and instead of talking to me to see what we could fashion with the TONS of supplies we already have (TBF, everyone involved was at least a little under the weather and not thinking well) they bought a POS shirt/jabot combo that cost way too much at S***T H*******N and was non-returnable. I spent far too much time separating the jabot from the shirt, and then pinned everything back together to be sewn up by NOT ME.

And a bit later and a bit calmer, I finished the baby hat that I started yesterday.

Picked up these balls recently while shopping for crimp beads. I loved the color and their A/B shine. Ditto with the smaller balls which were alternately a light blue or lavender depending on the angle. I thought the size of the main beads was best offset with a lighter set of beads, as I didn't want it to look chunky. The metal coins and tubes seemed a way of slimming it down a bit.

I loved the colors of this butterfly, it had a very 1970s vibe to me. Decided to mimic the colors in different strands for a fluttery sort of look. It's rather sparklier in person but the camera didn't really pick it up.

I knitted a baby hat during church-via-video (the household, and especially the usual driver, is still sick, though I appear to be better).

When that hat was finished, I didn't have enough of the purpley variegated to use in another hat. The pastel variegated yarn cake had come un-caked (larger cakes sometimes do fall apart) and since I was going to be pulling yarn from both ends for the next hat, I had to re-cake the yarn.

Later in the evening, I knitted another baby hat, using the pastel variegated yarn, because I needed to do something with my hands while binging more Camp Cretaceous.

Had a final set of the candy corn from Jo-Anne's closing. Added two different stone balls in orange shades, and some glass Ebeads for a simple Halloween look.

I completed the backstitch on the body of the mouse. Now, there's just some fine details to finish, and I should be done with this piece by the end of the month!

More little slides for bracelets that I couldn't otherwise use, so turned them into dangles and decided to use them in a pattern here.

It's been all backstitch, when I can manage anything at all; my household has some cold bug, but we all have slightly different symptoms, and I seem to have the mildest symptoms.

A definite Halloween theme! I thought the arrows looked a bit like ribs, so used them here with the skulls and darker blue beads to pick up on the blue grey of the main pieces.

Wasn't planning on doing new Halloween necklaces but I have a couple in progress. This one is a bit on theme, night owl on the hunt.

Guess it's a bright moonlit night as a lot of the blues are lighter, but I alternated that with darker blue, and also greens and "branches" on the inside strand for a "coming from the trees" effect. Then I sprinkled in various stars and paired it with the twisted branch toggle.

Day 21

I was in throes of a PEM event yesterday. I wound some yarn to relax and not tax my brain too much.

Day 21

It was a busy day, and once I finished the last event on my calendar, I started to feel not so good; I had a fever. :/ At least I made some good progress on the (hated) backstitch on the mouse...

Working with the last of my bigger slides, used them as actual slides, since I had these silver arrows to fill out the necklace with 😄

Came on this idea by accident, as I was trying a placement with the 3 center beads and suddenly though, "Huh, that looks like a tie fighter."

Decided to use the yellow, black and blue used for the Star Wars logos or crawls, and then mixed them with some metal beads that might look like repurposed mechanical bits. Ended it with, of course, a star toggle.
